THE WATER
Traditional fishing with real character
Numerous sets of lily pads and mature marginal planting create excellent habitat and plenty of areas to work. The bottom combines hard and soft clay, with siltier ground around the larger pad beds.
A simple waggler approach works well, while the lift method can be particularly effective for the larger tench. Soft hooker pellets, sweetcorn and mini boilies all catch fish.
This is not a bagging-up or bite-a-chuck venue. Its appeal is the chance to catch several species to specimen sizes in a quiet, thoughtfully managed setting.

Tench & bream
Tench to 8lb and bream to 8lb.
Perch & silvers
Perch to 4lb, with roach and rudd to 2lb.
Eels & small carp
Large eels over 8lb and carp to approximately 4lb.

Bring fish-care equipment
Farm Lakes does not supply landing nets or unhooking mats for the Specimen Pond. Bring the suitable equipment required by the rules.
Limited pressure
Only six anglers are permitted, fishing one rod each from allocated swims.
Day sessions only
Fishing runs from 8:00am until 7:00pm or dark, whichever is earlier. There is no night fishing.
Juniors
Under-16s fish one-to-one with a competent adult in the same swim. Read the junior rules before booking.
MANAGED FOR QUALITY
Restocked and landscaped
The pond has been restocked with specimen fish sourced from established UK suppliers. Its landscaping and marginal habitat support a healthy, varied fishery while retaining the enclosed, natural feel that makes it distinctive.
Tickets must be booked in advance. There are no walk-ons or same-day tickets, and anglers must hold a valid EA rod licence.
